ist das Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest in Ontario/Kanada.
Dieses Jahr werden wir neben Bierzelten und Festhallen in Deutschland erstmals auch international unser Publikum begeistern. Einen Tag nach unserem letzten Auftritt auf der Cannstatter Wasn geht es für uns von Deutschland aus in Richtung Kanada. Vom 8.10. bis zum 19.10. werden wir dort auf dem Oktoberfest in Waterloo für ordentlich Stimmung sorgen. Infos von www.oktoberfest.ca: "Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest is a community based Bavarian Festival that is committed to significantly contributing to the social, economic and cultural vitality of Kitchener-Waterloo. This mission statement is best exemplified by the Festival's close association with, and support of, more than 70 not-for-profit organizations. As well as the tremendous economic boost the Festival gives the local economy during the nine days, over $1.5 million is raised by the not-for-profit organizations associated with Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest. These funds are raised through the sale of buttons and lottery tickets, from the operation of the Festhallen and from the successful, crowd-pleasing activities that are part of the nine days of family entertainment that is Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest. All of this money goes back into the community to support and fund very worthwhile projects. Arenas and ice rinks, swimming pools and recreational facilities, community parks and public fountains are all enjoyed by the citizens' of Kitchener-Waterloo because of the hard work and dedication of the not-for-profit organizations involved with the Festival. Shelters for the homeless, Big Sisters and Big Brothers, seeing-eye dog training schools, group homes for the mentally challenged, senior citizens residences and the three area hospitals, are all local causes that have been, and continue to be, recipients of the funds raised at Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest. Our younger generation’s access to local drum and bugle corps, choirs and orchestras, dance groups, language schools, clubs and camps is enhanced by proceeds from Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest. The Festival is committed to and practices its mission statement all year long. Over 450 community volunteers and 8 full-time staff ensure that the Festival is a world-class event, so that the community reaps the benefits."
